Gabriela Tejada, Senior Designer

Gaby brings an invaluable holistic sensitivity to our creative offering, integrating myriad design applications into a coherent language that fully expresses the founding concept.

This is a role she shaped for herself as Graphic Designer at Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, from where we shamelessly stole her. Prior to that she spent five years as a much in-demand freelance design consultant, which included spells as Yale University Art Gallery Graphic Designer and F New Magazine Art Director in Chicago – as well as promotional, event, packaging and ID design for non-profit organizations both in the U.S. and in her native Guatemala.

Gaby is fluent in Spanish, English and, of course, all the leading-edge design technologies, some of which we've never heard of (yet). She holds an MFA in Graphic Design from Yale University School of Art, and a BFA in Visual Communication from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago, where she won the Student Leadership Award in May 2005. We also forced her to admit to receiving several other awards – including Designer Of The Year Student Society for News Design, 2005 – since she would never volunteer such information herself.

She lives in Brooklyn with two dogs, neither of whom has won any awards.
